After a cold night sleeping in all our clothes we had a lazy breakfast with Eliane. Most people were on a tour they travel here arrive up the mountain at 9pm, wake at 3:30am next morning for a land cruiser ride up to a view point then to Mt Bromo & down the mountain at 9am for the bus to Bali. We are going it alone so took the day today to do the walk to Mt Bromo the relax. The walk was only a couple of hours, the village sits on the edge of a 10km across crater then inside this crater is Mt Bromo(the semi-active one) and a few other small mountains. Its a great setting with a steep walk down to the vast flat crater floor then over to Bromo & a steep climb up the small mountain to its steaming crater with a bubbling lake below. Had a very cheap lunch & dinner at a place just up from our hotel's overpriced restaurant & I fed the friendly cat.
