Day 118 KK to Sandakan

Arriving at the station at 7:30am looking for an 8am bus we were very lucky to get the 7:30am bus which was by far the most luxurious bus we've ever seen. The seats were leather and so big each row was only 3 seats across. I looked about the rest of the bus station as we were leaving and none of the others looked this good.
It was a 6 hour trip to Sandakan on the east coast of Borneo where we will be collected tomorrow for transfer to Kinabatangan.
We checked in to Hotel London a nice place for the same money we had been spending elsewhere and went for a walk about town. It was a small town a few restaurants along the water front and a massive new shopping centre near completion. It used to be Malaysian Borneo's capital and sadly it's biggest tourist card was a memorial site of a Japanese prison camp which held thousands of Australians & British during WWII of those only 6 survived.
