Perfect timing as we walk out the hotel an older man said Rak-el, Rak-el. It was our bus to Wonosobo which we thought we had to make our own way to but he was there to collect us, great. After collecting more people for an hour we were off to Wonosobo(3hours) where we transferred to a public bus up to Dieng(1.5hours). We only checked two places and settled on a room in the 2nd place for 50,000IR (€4.20), very basic and not the cleanest but ok.
We ate in their restaurant then did a short walk to a small Hindu temple. All the villagers were very friendly and helpful, plenty of smiling faces. Being so high up 2093mts it was a bit cooler, I intended on bringing something warm but neither of us did and come night time it was cold, not freezing but too cold for my shorts & t-shirt which I slept in to try keep warm overnight!
