Our taxi man was waiting as promised all smiles & took us to the Air Asia terminal. The airport always provides a shock when paying for something no matter the country always a premium, Cambodia was classic you could live off US$5 per day but it would only buy a coffee in the airport.
As we flew out of Kota Kinabalu we got a great view of the coral reefs around the islands off the city & a glimpse of Mt Kinabalu.
We had 3 hours in Kuala Lumpur airport then flew to Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. First impressions, as we came in to land the airport looked no bigger than that of Mulu in Borneo(30 seater planes max) but once outside it was a little bigger. Security was tight & I was sent to the back of the line when we needed an extra form. We were misinformed by plane stewards about how many customs forms we needed.
Taxi driver struggled to find our Hostel but all worked out well and its a great place, but the new country and new area all looked a little dodgy at night so we didn't bother heading out for dinner.
