Had our western breakie again of bacon, toast and the usual tea and coffee at the hostel then out in to -20chill at 11am to get supplies for the train trip.
We got a few items from a nice bakery with more of these well decorated cakes(got a pic this time!) and the woman was quite happy with my thank you in Chinese.
We then went out on the frozen river for a few more photos and found some workers making an ice sculpture and dropped in to a couple of shops hunting a Haerbin souvenir with no luck, finding only Russian items probably since we are so close and plenty of them live here.
Then on the train back to Beijing we have cheaper tickets this way and the seats are more basic with 3&2 in a row rather than the 2&2 we had going to Haerbin.
I forgot to mention the ice inside the windows of Haerbin, all the buses had a thin layer of ice on the windows, entry doors often had ice, our hostel was in an old synagogue and ice was between the inner and outer windows. The picture shows the ice buildup round the bathroom fan.
