After stopping at all 3 information desks in the airport naturally the quickest way to town was the special city train.
For Christine and anyone else interested it's -7deg and feels it!
First impressions of the 1st hostel tells me an extra 50€cent per night would have been a better investment it's undergoing remodelling so common areas are non existent currently and the beds weren't changed for us to use but otherwise it's a hostel.
We have been out to visit the nearby Lama Temple, home to many well decorated buildings and loads of Budda statues including a 3 storey high one with the Guinness record since it was carved from one tree.
Nearly 3pm local time and neither of us slept on the flight so time for a nana nap.
Got up for dinner which was interesting. Most menus around had pictures with a little description. Plenty of chicken legs, sea cucumber in different forms, every possible part of an animal you could think of- interesting but I think this trip will be great for the weight loss programme :)
