Just had a bit of a wonder today it was wet again with some heavy rain.
We hit the supermarket in preparation for our 27hr train for Xi'an. Brought a thermos flask which we can use for a few trips coming up and 2 pots of noodles each, biscuits(see pic of the Oreo isle), milk for my coffee, crackers and I got mandarins from the street market.
Standing in line for ticket check we knew time was tight if they were to start letting people through and leave on time, next thing an announcement and we could tell people were talking and not happy, when the board updated it said a 10minute delay almost normal in some countries!
It did drag on a bit longer to a 30min delay but it was our 1st late train and people's behaviour showed it wasnt common.
On board the train left at 6:30pm many got straight in to a pot of noodles(Boiling water is available in every carriage including our cattle class). Rachel has two batteries for her phone and I've my phone & laptop to keep us entertained.
In each row of seats were two our side and three the other, they were soft but bolt upright because the seat back forms another seat behind. In front of us we shared a half length table with a nice young couple facing us.
Sleeping arrangements look to be challenging!
