Day 33 Yangshou - Guilin

Had breakfast for the 3rd & final time at the French restaurant(yes the same one we saw the mouse)they've looked after us and at €6 for scrambled eggs bacon, a baguette, orange juice and coffee/tea for the both of us it's cheap.
We took the bus north 1.5hrs to Guilin Population 1.34 million and after a walk of the town to get a feel for it we were both a bit disappointed since it lacked the buzz Yangshou had with less than half the people and it's nocturnal life style, hopefully our activities tomorrow will prove us wrong.
Our hostel here is more of a hotel large beds, 42" tv, computer & a/c in our room we could say it was a 4* for 40yuan/5€ each(nearly too good to be true I'm waiting for the catch!).
Across the road from our stay are the night markets filled with the usual items silk, tea, fans, jade, fresh fruit juices, some paintings we really like and also a simple but arty bamboo lamp we mite be keen on too. Another new addition here is passion fruit sold in most shops and tea stalls.
As I sit here sipping my 600ml 0.40€ beer, the same one I've paid up to €1 for and refused to pay €2.65 for I'm thinking about the two train trips we booked today. Now the reason we didn't do the warriors on our way south after Haerbin was because we couldn't get train tickets for weeks from Beijing there. So theres no train station in Yangshou, arriving in Guilin today was our first chance to book our onward trip to Xi'an a 26hr train & our only option was a hard seat(the seat has padding but not much room and more like sitting in the back seat of a car with two others) for the next week so we have a hard seat on the 5th, yup better than standing but it's no hard sleeper! Hit with that news we looked at getting out of Xi'an bad news on that one too hard seat only but at 16hrs to Chengdu not as rough. Flights are an option between both but the cost difference doesn't justify it. We paid €27 & €14 pp for each for those. All trains provide boiling water points so we will do as the locals do and bring plenty of noodles there is a dining car also we can stretch our legs in.
Oh and we had some major detour to the louvre see pic of Rachel.
