We had to get a bus at 7:45am so we could catch an 11:45am domestic flight. All was well though in the Air Asia camp our 2nd on time arrival with bags. We were collected at the airport by the amazingly helpful owner of the small hostel. There are only 3 rooms a German couple are the only other guests. He gave us every piece of information we could need and the keys before flying to Kota Kinabalu for the rest of the week.
First port of call was to ring Gunung Gading National Park to see if any Rafflesia flowers (the worlds biggest flowers) were in bloom, there are three! that's tomorrow sorted.
Then we checked out the town, paid for our nights accommodation in one of the national parks, searched for leech socks but settled for sports socks and contemplated buying huge tree stumps of tribal art.
